1. SUPREME x NAS

2. WHERE TO COP FRANK OCEAN'S TEE

At his a performance this week at Panorama Fest in New York, Frank Ocean dawned a shirt saying, "WHY BE RACIST, SEXIST, HOMOPHOBIC, OR TRANSPHOBIC WHEN YOU COULD JUST BE QUIET". The shirt, apropos given the climate of this week has become quite a sought after item. If your feeling the message, here's where to cop

3. NEYMAR DROPS 18K ON SNEAKERS

Soccer mega-star, Neymar was on Complex's Sneaker Shopping this week to talk all things shoes. VOL 5: The Weeknd Merch, Fear of God x New Era & Stephon Marbury

VOL 5: The Weeknd Merch, Fear of God x New Era & Stephon Marbury

Welcome to Cool Pants. Here are 3 things that happened in streetwear this week:

1. THE WEEKND'S MERCH COUNTDOWN

If your looking to cop some of The Weeknd’s Starboy merch, you have little over two days to do so. His website is outfitted with an assortment of tees, longsleeves, hoodies and bombers featuring a predominately teal and red colour way. I really like this effort. Check the gear out yourself HERE.

2. FEAR OF GOD x NEW ERA COLLAB

High-end streetwear brand Fear of God is back with another collab, this time with seasoned hat makers New Era. In this release, Fear of God’s Jerry Lorenzo flipped several classic MLB hats as a call-back to the baseball style in the 90’s. All hats were made domestically in the US, and utilize the classic baseball cap design of that era. In the interview below, Jerry explains the collection is inspired by all-time greats like Ken Griffey Jr, Darryl Strawberry and Ricky Henderson. Check out the full interview by Complex below:

3. AND1 RE-RELEASES 'THE CONEY ISLAND CLASSIC'

Back in the day, Stephon Marbury was a big-time NBA star. When it came to his inevitable shoe deal, Marbury didn’t go toe-to-toe with Jordan but instead created an affordable shoe called ‘The Coney Island Classic’. At that time, AND1 was everywhere. The re-release of this shoe brings back crazy nostalgia. Check out the kicks HERE.

Vol 3: $200 Underwear, Ric Flair & Supreme

Vol 3: $200 Underwear, Ric Flair & Supreme

Welcome to Cool Pants. Here are 3 things that happened in streetwear this week:

1. $200 Underwear

OK. So the French Fashion house Balenciaga just dropped their Spring/Summer line which included $200 underwear set. No lie they are literally just black and white underwear with Balenciaga woven into the waist band. You can’t even flex on people in these…they are underwear. smh.

Read more about the drop here:

2. Ric Flair Sneaker Shopping

If anyone knows anything about wrestling, they know about the The Nature Boy … Rick Flair. A man LeBron James himself calls the inventor of swag. Well Mr. Flair was on Complex’s ‘Sneaker Shopping’ this week breaking down his favourite kicks and showing off his $160,000 outfit. It’s definitely worth a watch.

Check it out here:

3. Supreme x Louis Vuitton Release

Lastly, Supreme and Louis Vuitton dropped their much anticipated collaboration this week. This was easily one of the most hyped drops in recent memory. Along with the classic box logo tee, there were leathers (wallets, belts), kicks, and a signature Louis Vuitton all-over print hoodies. The video below shows the line at the London store. There was a kid who dropped $8,000…now thats hype.

Check out the crazy video of the London line here:

Vol 2: Khaled & CP3

Vol 2: Khaled & CP3

Welcome to Cool Pants. Here are a couple things that happened in streetwear this week:

1. Khaled's Jordans

DJ Khaled announced his pair of Jordan III’s this week; A red leather sneaker with black & white elephant print highlights. It feels like this one has been a long time coming.

The video below shows Khaled breaking down the history behind the sneaker. He explains that he has wanted this for a long time. It comes off as very genuine. The sneaker is named, ‘Grateful’, and in this interview Khaled really embodies that sentiment. All that being said, some of the details on this sneaker are kind of meh. I like the ‘We The Best’ Jumpman logo, but on the heel tab of the shoe there are hashtags printed…#majorkey #blessup #jordan23. They just feel kind of misplaced and cheap-looking. But that’s just my opinion…I wear busted vans on the daily so who am I.

Check out Khaled’s Jordan III for yourself here:

2. CP3's Capsule Collection

The NBA off-the-bus walk-in might as well be a run-way these days. Every player is trying to show off their style and Chris Paul is no exception. This week he dropped his Five Four Club Capsule Collection in New York.

The collection featured a mostly white and blue lineup of garments including joggers, khakis, and button ups. There was nothing really stand-out, but it’s good to see an athlete getting more of an opportunity to push into the fashion world aside from a sneaker deal. With Russell Westbrook collaborating with True Religion back in 2016, it looks like we will see more of this from your favourite players in the next few years. Let's be honest, we’re all fully expecting Russ to have a second career in fashion once he retires.

Check out Chris Paul talking about his collection here:

Vol 1: White Shoes, Skinny Knees & Drake

Vol 1: White Shoes, Skinny Knees & Drake

Welcome to Cool Pants. Here are 3 things that happened in streetwear this week:

1. The All-White Shoe

This week Adidas announced a couple new shoes; The Ultra Boost Laceless Mid, and Crazy Explosive 17’s. Nike clapped back with a pretty significant Air Max 97 announcement. All these shoes look crazy in their own right, but there’s one issue for me; All three of these sneakers are all-white. Don't get me wrong…fresh out of the box i’m sure these releases look great, but I feel like for the common person, white shoes are a struggle. They look so damn good…for 3-4 months then you have a busted yellowing sole and it’s over. But I dunno. They still look dope nonetheless. Have a look at all three below:

2. Gosha & The Knees

Earlier this week, Russian designer Gosha Rubchinshiy showed off his Spring/Summer 2018 line in St. Petersburg, Russia. The collection included collabs with MAJOR companies like Adidas, Burberry, and Stephen Jones. Walking to an off-kilter soundtrack in a dimly lit hallway, models trotted past a small line of media. Attendees saw soccer inspired looks, a selection beyond dad hats I will call grandpa hats, and several oversized crew and knit sweaters. I will add that there were a lot of exposed knees. Yes knees. There were a lot of skinny knees for show on this runway. All jokes aside, it was kinda cool. You know Gosha’s work when you see it, and he has a very interesting style that you may or may not be ready for. All that said, open your mind and check out the whole runway show below:

3. Drake & Stone Island

A couple days ago, Aleks Eror of High Snobiety put out a pretty interesting piece about the brand Stone Island. If you aren’t familiar with the name, there two places where you may have seen their trademark compass logo; In your dad’s closet, or on Drake’s instagram.

The brand has rose quickly in the streetwear scene riding on the back of A-list acts such as Mr. Hotline Bling himself. Eror’s article sheds light on Stone Island’s former identity…the un-official uniform for English soccer hooligans. How hilarious is that. A logo notoriously associated with face-punchy activities has found a new home with the man who wrote Marvin’s Room. Now thats a re-brand. Check out the full article here. It’s pretty great.
