Welcome to Cool Pants. Here are 3 things that happened in streetwear this week:
1. SNEAKERHEADS AT THE GRAMMYS
So I watched the Grammy’s last night...well I fell asleep near the end because it’s like 8 hours long...but I watched most of it. Do I have any opinions on the results? Not really... but I did appreciate the strong sneaker game at the 60th annual event. Bruno Mars brought his A-game featuring an array of sough after kicks including Sean Wotherspoon’s Air Max 97’s and a few selections from that Virgil Abloh x Nike’s collab. 2. NEW CHAMPION
Champion is back with more gear. Whether you think Chance brought this brand back or not (Chance the Rapper that is, he claims he brought the brand back in style) it looks like they are here to stay. I for one am cool with it. They make good shit. Check the link HERE to check out the new new.
3. FALL OUT BOY’S PETE WENTZ IS A SNEAKERHEAD
That's it for the week. See you in 7 days.
So I learned a few things today. First is that Fall Out Boy is still making music... and second, Fall Out Boy’s lead singer likes to drop racks on sneakers. Who knew. Wentz took to Complex’s show Sneaker Shopping to talk all things hype; even dishing that he owns a coveted pair of KAWs x Jordan IVs (To translate, that’s a rare sneaker retailing at about $2,000). Anyways. If your into re-living your angsty teen years, or you just like watching people spend your rent on shoes, check the video below.
