Welcome to Cool Pants. Here are 3 things that happened in streetwear this week:
1. SUPREME x UNDERCOVER x PUBLIC ENEMY
New York-based streetwear giant SUPREME released a widely anticipated collab this week with Jun Takahashi of Japanese brand, UNDERCOVER, AND legendary hip hop group, PUBLIC ENEMY. Inspired by Public Enemy’s acclaimed album “Fear of a Black Planet”, this collection features all-over print & patched jackets, a custom skate deck & even pair of Doc Martens. One of my favourite YouTuber’s “The Unknown Vlogs” took to the Supreme drop in London to give us a taste of the hype that is Supreme. Check it out below
2. SEAN WOTHERSPOON’S AIR MAX RELEASE
What happens when passion carries you. Sean Wotherspoon has quite a story. The owner of the popular Hollywood streetwear store/hub ROUND TWO has gone from humble beginnings in Virginia, to collabing on one of the best shoes of 2017 with Nike. His take on the Air Max 97 silhouette was a hit last year upon reveal, and now they are about to release on March 26th. For a quick intro to the human that is Sean Wotherspoon, check the video below.
3. ZARA’S AUGMENTED REALITY
That's it for the week. See you in 7 days.
Things are about to get weird in 120 ZARA stores. The fast-fashion giant is launching a 2 week pilot of an augmented reality app. What does this mean you ask. Well. If you go into one of these shops you can pull out your phone Pokemon Go style and see models walking around and interact with product information with your device. A smartstore if you will. Something that was introduced to me by LA’s Marathon Clothing & Nispsey Hussle. Looks like the trend is continuing. Click here to see more.
